Bayreuth is my German hometown.

Am in Bayreuth with the Semmelmanns. Today we walked up small mountain to a hut and ate schnitzel and then walked a little further to rock and climbed on the rock, then walked back to the hut and they tobogganed back down to the car. Cold, but fun. We then went to U's mother's house and had coffee and cake. Warm and very tasty.
Yesterday evening we went to a benefit concert for Haiti in a hall in a house in a small village nearby. Great music from two guys who are planning to tour Australia next year.
I also caught the train from Berlin to Bayreuth and arrived two hours later than planned because of the weather and also because they had only a half normal sized train from Berlin (to Munich) and it took fifteen minutes to get every on it. Not everyone actually got on the the guards were arguing with a group of people about how there was no space on it as they tried to squeeze past my premium spot in the corner beside the door.
On Tuesday I go to Frankfurt to visit M.
Everything is in German again and it is marvellous.
Everything is also covered in snow, which is marvellous but also cold. Very deep and proper powdery snow. I have pictures. I had to borrow gloves and shoes and a jacket to go walking.
Ten sleeps!
